The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kumbungu, Hon. Kakpagu, has put before the Head of the Local Government Service a number of operational challenges confronting the Kumbungu District Assembly during his visit to the Assembly. Among the concerns highlighted was the lack of staff accommodation in the District, including accommodation for the DCE, which continues to create difficulties for staff and management and affects the smooth execution of official responsibilities.
Hon. Kakpagu also raised concerns about inadequate office space, noting that the limited working environment poses challenges to the effective performance of staff. He further drew attention to the inadequacy and ageing condition of official vehicles, which affects the Assembly’s ability to undertake official movements and carry out effective monitoring and supervision of development projects and programmes across the District.
Another major concern presented to the Head of the Local Government Service was the inadequate allocation of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) for administrative activities. The DCE appealed for support through the appropriate institutional channels to address these challenges, stressing that improved accommodation, office infrastructure, logistics and administrative funding would strengthen the Assembly’s operational capacity and enhance service delivery to the people of Kumbungu District.
